OCR: HOTSPOTS When you first load a quest, (see Loading Instructions booklet), you will automatically be at the first location. This is signified by a red flag. The black/grey dots, or "hotspots', represent places you can 'visit'. Move the thoune pointer over the map and it will change to a hand. Place the index finger of the hand pointer over a hotspot and "Select it by clicking the left hand mouse button. The red flag will move on the map to show your new location. If you move the mouse pointer over a hotspot the name of the location is displayed in the Title Bar at the top of the screen and, if the 'Help' option has been selected, in the window at the bottom of the page. The blue/pink hotspots indicate that there is a submap to look at. SUBMAPS In order to view u subena, first make sure that the location you are looking for is 'on screen' and that ora have moved to it, i.e. the flag is situated there. All of the 'Main Map' hotspots lead to submaps. Once you have moved, the '4' icon at the top of the screen will change colour to red. Click on the red cross icon and the submap will be revealed. At this point the minus sign icon will change colour to yellow. Clicking on this will take you back one level. Some submaps, as in the case of Winchester, have submaps of their own and by using the red cross and the yellow minus you can move up and down through the various levels. SAVING YOUR QUEST POSITION AND STATUS This option is used to save your group's position and Status many time whilst on a Quest. Either open up a hard dise Directory or place a formatted dise into the floppy disc drive and open the dise window. Cheson the icon and delete the filename shown. Type in the filename under which you want to save your work und drag the icon into your dise window. This can be loaded back into the software by dragging the icon from the dise window and dropping it orftp the "Arthur' icon on the Icon bar. FINDING LOCATIONS Select this icon to open the place index window. This window contains the list of locations situated on the current map or plan. Move the mouse pointer over a place name in this window and it will become highlighted. Select it and the associated hotspot will be displayed somewhere on the screen! If you get lost on a particular map, select 'Current Position' and this will return you to your last location. This procedure DOES NOT actually move you from one location to another. Selecting the individual 'hotspot' is still required. N.B. To move to a location on a particular map, using the 'place index', it is necessary for that map to be the one currently displayed on the screen. For example, it is not possible to move directly to or from the town of Whittington unless the "Wales' submap is currently on the screen. Similarly, if you are in Winchester Cathedral you cannot go straight to Tintagel without first coming back to the Main Map, selecting and moving into "West Wales' and then selecting Tintagel, You can move freely to another location on the same map by seletteris it.
